Dental Implants in Langley to Replace Your Missing Teeth Permanently

PRIOR TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF DENTAL IMPLANTS, THE ONLY OPTION FOR REPLACING MISSING TEETH WAS DENTURES. SINCE THAT TIME, TECHNOLOGY HAS COME A LONG WAY! IF YOU HAVE MISSING TEETH, PERMANENT DENTAL IMPLANTS MAY BE THE BEST CHOICE FOR YOU TO MAINTAIN YOUR ORAL HEALTH AND ALWAYS LOOK YOUR BEST.

An Introduction to Dental Implants

An implant is an artificial root placed in the area normally occupied by a missing tooth’s natural root. After the implant has been anchored to the jawbone, it will act as the foundation for a bridge or artificial tooth. In some cases, Amazing Smile Dental will even use implants as a means of attaching dentures.
Due to the surgical nature of the procedure, not everyone is an ideal candidate for dental implants, In order for an implant to take hold successfully, the candidate must have a strong immune system and proper bone density. In every case, strict attention to oral hygiene is required.

One huge benefit of the dental implant procedure is that artificial teeth, usually made of synthetic yet biocompatible material, are designed to look and feel like natural teeth!

Once you know what is going on inside of your mouth, you make the treatment decisions that are best for you. We will never be pushy or recommend treatment that you don’t need.

The Dental Implant Procedure

When it comes to preparing the area and placing an implant in the mouth, surgery is required. It will take some time for the bone tissue to build up and the implant to take hold after the surgery is completed. In some cases, a follow up procedure is required in which the doctor will place metal posts into the implant and connect the tooth.

Keep in mind that because the procedure requires surgery, dental implant patients will be administered anesthesia. If necessary, antibiotics will also be administered following the procedure to help stave off infection.

As with any restoration procedure, dental implants require strict oral hygiene, and proper, diligent care to ensure that the restoration lasts a long time. For more information about dental implants options at our Langley clinic, or to find out if you are eligible for the procedure, please contact Amazing Smile Dental today.

Reasons to Consider Dental Implants

Have you lost a tooth to trauma, periodontal disease or advanced tooth decay? You may want to consider a dental implant with a crown instead of a bridge. If your general health is good, you have healthy gums, and the bone in your jaw can support an implant, you may be a good candidate for a dental implant.

Not sure if your insurance will cover this service? Let us our diligent office staff help you figure out your financial options! All dental implants will be executed by our certified periodontist in Langley. Together, you and our dentist will develop a treatment plan for a dental implant that fits your unique needs and desired appearance.

Why See a Periodontist for Your Dental Implant?

Periodontics focuses on the structures that surround and support your teeth, specifically the gums and underlying bone. Oral health includes care of your gums, and seeing a dentist with advanced periodontal training means you get diagnosis and treatment of various conditions and diseases of the gums.

A periodontist also places dental implants. Since dental implants connect below your gums to the bone in order to anchor a replacement tooth, a periodontist is the natural choice for the necessary procedures.

Your Dental Implant Aftercare

Professional aftercare and at-home dental hygiene are as important with dental implants as with your natural teeth. Our periodontist is experienced with the important pre- and post-procedure prevention and treatment of gum conditions and oral inflammation. She will schedule regular follow-up visits to monitor your implant, your surrounding teeth, and your gums to ensure healing progresses as it should. As with your own teeth, regular brushing, flossing, and dental cleanings will keep your implant attractive and plaque-free.

Don’t go longer than you have to with missing teeth. Your smile will stay straighter and stronger with the support of an implant. Consult with our periodontist in Langley to discuss if dental implants are right for you.
